Dasha and Job Change — When Will I Get a New Job or Promotion?

Dashas set the calendar

In Vedic astrology the Vimshottari dasha — a 120-year cycle of planetary periods — decides when the promises of the chart come to life. Your free kundli lists your mahadashas and the antardashas of the current one.

Periods linked with career change

• 10th lord or a planet in the 10th — rise in status, new role, promotion.
• 6th lord — a new job, service, competitive success (and sometimes conflict at work).
• 11th lord — rise in income, rewards, a better offer.
• 12th lord — a move abroad, a change of place, or a break.
• 8th lord — sudden changes, restructuring or a complete change of field.

Transits confirm the timing

Astrologers expect career events when the dasha and the transits agree: Jupiter transiting the 10th or 11th from the lagna or Moon, or aspecting the 10th lord, opens opportunities; Saturn transiting the 10th tests and then rewards steady work. Saturn's Sade Sati often coincides with heavy responsibility rather than easy gains.

A simple self-check

1. Note which planet rules your 10th house.
2. Find when its antardasha runs within the current mahadasha.
3. Check where Jupiter is transiting at that time — your yearly horoscope shows it by Moon sign.

These are traditional principles of Vedic astrology. A real reading weighs the whole chart — lagna, house lords, divisional charts (especially the D10 Dashamsha for career), dashas and transits — so treat this as guidance and consult an astrologer for decisions.
