Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026 (Thu)
This policy explains what personal information MyPujaWorld ("we") collects when you use mypujaworld.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account details — your name, email address and a securely hashed password. Optional profile details such as your home state, current city, languages and festival interests.
- Content you add — events you list (including organiser contact numbers you choose to publish), reviews, photos, stories, forum questions and answers, reports and claim requests.
- Enquiries — when you request a pandit, an E-Puja or an astrologer call, the name, city, language, date and WhatsApp number you enter; when you enquire with a business, your message and the phone number you choose to share.
- Business listings — if you list services, the business details and contact numbers you provide.
- Activity — events and temples you save, communities you follow, events you mark as going or check in to, volunteering, Utsav Points and notifications we send you.
- Technical data — your IP address and basic request information in server logs, used for security (for example to stop repeated failed logins).
- Location — if you allow it, your browser shares your approximate location to show nearby events. It is used in your browser for the search and is not stored on your account.
How we use it
- To run your account, including sending one-time verification and password-reset codes by email.
- To show and moderate event listings, and to email you about events you saved or listed.
- To pass your enquiry to the pandit, coordinator or business you contacted — they receive your name, email and the contact details you entered so they can reply.
- To build features such as your My MyPujaWorld Year summary and to award Utsav Points.
- To keep MyPujaWorld secure and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information. Organiser phone numbers on event pages are shown only to logged-in users.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use a secure, http-only cookie to keep you logged in.
We do not currently show advertising or use advertising cookies. If we introduce ads, we will update this policy first.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us run MyPujaWorld (such as our hosting and email providers), with the pandit, coordinator or business you send an enquiry to, when required by law, or with your consent. Event listings, reviews, photos, stories and Q&A you post are public and show your name.
Keeping and deleting your data
You can update your profile at any time from My MyPujaWorld. To delete your account, email hello@mypujaworld.com from your registered address; we will delete or anonymise your personal information unless we must keep it by law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, or the GDPR in the UK and EU), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, or to object to some uses. Contact us at hello@mypujaworld.com.
