How to read your yearly horoscope
In Vedic astrology the slow-moving planets shape the general climate of a year. Jupiter (Guru) spends about a year in each sign and brings growth wherever it falls well; Saturn (Shani) stays about two and a half years and asks for discipline and patience; Rahu and Ketu, the lunar nodes, move backwards through the zodiac and stay about eighteen months, bringing sudden change and detachment.
Each rashi page counts the house of every planet from your Moon sign and explains what the classical texts say about it, with the exact dates when a planet changes sign. Saturn's passage over the 12th, 1st and 2nd houses from the Moon — the famous Sade Sati — is flagged, as are Ashtama (8th-house) and Kantaka (4th-house) Shani.
Remember that a yearly horoscope is general. Two people with the same Moon sign can have very different years because of their ascendant and the dasha periods running in their charts.
