About Karya Siddhi Hanuman Temple, Frisco
The Karya Siddhi Hanuman Temple in Frisco, north of Dallas, is dedicated to Lord Hanuman as Karya Siddhi — the one who helps devotees succeed in their undertakings. The temple covers about 34,000 square feet and is one of the largest Hindu temples in North Texas.
Its 72-foot Raja Gopuram, built in 2019 according to the Agama Shastras, is a landmark on Independence Parkway. Devotees traditionally pray here for the success of a wish and complete a series of pradakshinas (circumambulations) around the shrine, returning to give thanks when the wish comes true.
Hanuman Jayanti and the Saturdays sacred to Hanuman are the busiest days, and the temple also celebrates the main Hindu festivals of the year with large community gatherings.
History
The temple was founded under the guidance of Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji of Mysuru. Construction ran from 2007 to 2015, and the temple opened on 23 July 2015. Shortly afterwards, on 1 August 2015, devotees set a Guinness World Record for the longest continuous chanting of the Hanuman Chalisa — more than 24 hours. The Raja Gopuram was completed in 2019.
